SABE MAS Academy

Supporting a Better Education in Math and Science

The SABE MAS Academy is a College of Science program designed to strengthen STEM content knowledge and pedagogy in El Paso area pre- and in-service teachers.

SABE MAS undergraduate and experienced teacher participants meet together every other week in a three hour block as a community of learners to collaborate on cross-disciplinary lesson plans supported by technology, aligned to TEKS, and informed by the teachers' needs.

Science, math, and technology activities designed by University faculty serve as a catalyst for these meetings. Undergraduates receive extensive support from those already in the classroom as they pursue their goal of becoming secondary science or math teachers.
